Madison and Brian at Hotel Kansas City
This past September Madison and Brian got married in at the Library and then threw an epic party in the Starlight Ballroom at Hotel Kansas City. The whole day was so beautiful and full of intentional details.
Madison had a vision from the start and wanted to use only a few types of flowers. So for the pedestal floral installation that framed the couple for the ceremony, we used primarily marigolds with one arrangement made solely of rudbeckia. The simplicity in flower type added to the drama of the space creating the perfect pop of vibrant color. Following the ceremony, the floral arrangements were used as focal point pieces in the bar.
Madison’s bouquet was truly my favorite bouquet I made last year and definitely in my top ten I’ve ever made. She requested that I use all mango calla lilies, but gave me full reign on shape and style. I knew she wanted something sculptural and memorable so I added the bendy and curly q calla lilies. It was a showstopper.
The reception was held on the top floor of Hotel Kansas City with a whole view of downtown. For centerpieces half the tables held craspedia bud vases and the other tables featured ikebana arrangements made of marigolds. The head table combined both, with lots of candles and silver candelabras for a modern look with a vintage touch.
