Nicole and Scott: Backyard Wedding in Kansas

Nicole and Scott got married in October in their backyard in Westwood, Kansas. They spent months on house renovations, clearing brush, gardening and even making their own tent for guests to dine under. They basically created a mini event space!

The vibe was inspired by fall and we used a mix of fresh and dried elements. All the flowers were seasonal and provided the perfect whimsical touch to the yard. For color, we used a muted palette of earth tones with pops of green, terracotta and yellow.

Nicole’s bouquet was sculptural, organic and natural, providing a beautiful juxtaposition to her chic, modern from Bride KC. She also showed up in literally the coolest way ever to her first look, in vintage emerald green convertible!!

The ceremony was held in their garden so the floral installation was placed low to look as if it was growing in the moss around the trees. Guests sat on wooden benches and then wandered freely through the yard for cocktails.

We created a focal point installation in the tent and went simple on the tables with candles and bittersweet. The look as then elevated with the blush and clear glass goblets and copper flatware rented from Ultrapom.

This may be my favorite wedding this year because of all the personal touches and love that went into creating this day. Check out the amazing photos by Waldron Photography below!
