Shelby and Paul at La Villa

Shelby and Paul got married in the middle of September at La Villa, a Spanish inspired venue with gorgeous natural light in the Midtown neighborhood of Kansas City.

The venue itself is a blank slate with all white walls so we wanted to warm up the space by adding in lots of color. We used a pink and terracotta palette with pops of burgundy and neutral tones to break up the saturated hues.

Shelby’s bouquet was so fun, lush and very textural. It was composed of a mix of fresh blooms, dried flowers and bleached product. Pink plumosa and pampas grass acted as the based while the roses were the focal point. Her statement boho bouquet complimented her amazing dress by Sarah Seven from Bride KC so nicely, without competing with the details. The veil added that next level touch and I am in LOVE with her portraits in it.

We created a floral column installation for the ceremony, with a slight bend to curve around the couple. It was a mix of dried pieces, painted flora, bleached product, pampas grass and lots of amazing fresh roses and seasonal blooms. It really popped off of the white wall background. The aisle pieces were created in terracotta compotes and were then placed on tables for the reception decor.

This was the ultimate chic, boho wedding with the sweetest details :) Shelby even designed all the graphics, including a wedding day newspaper. Check out the photos by Marcea Lena Photography below!
