Poetic, Modern Art Editorial

Back in March we had the opportunity to create the cover shoot florals for issue 4 of Thine Magazine, run by Juliana Noelle Jumper at 21C Museum Hotel, which also hosts an art gallery on the first floor. To match the vibe of the art, we choose a modern, stark white color palette and created interest through texture, shape and a mix of fresh, dried and bleached florals.

The tablescape was styled asymmetrically with orchids in chic, ribbed glass vases on one side and a larger textural, focal point arrangement on the other. A couple taper candles in the middle of the table filled the gap , rounding out the shape and adding height. Table settings from Good Stuff China completed the all white look

The altar space was an art installation in itself. We flooded the tops and bases of arcylic stands with candles and added some bleached hanging amaranthus to allude to a dripped wax effect. Set next to the artwork, it looks like it belongs, perfectly curated.

The final piece was the sculptural, textural, monochromatic bouquet. Spiky, rough bleached thistle offset by soft spray roses, sweet pea and cascading orchids.

Overall, the shoot turned out beautifully and evoked the essence of the modern art gallery.
